A $5 million pay check, "salty Simmons", a little alcohol, antics, etc, etc seem to be contributory rationale behind the Corporation's decision to give her the shove. God knows there are lots of "salty" male anchors walking around without the identify prefix. Why the bone-faced audacity to address Ms. Simmons as such, I wonder? She was not even allowed to be natural on the job, not even a tad grey, no Lady Anchor has ever dared such a vision! The fact is 68 year old ugly, garrulous, cheating, hard-partying, sometimes unprofessional Mr. Simmon Sue would have been offered a new contract, despite his shameful private life and allegations of workplace sexual harassment. He would have at least another 25 years in the can ....... Ladies?
