Marriage is a Holy Estate. One does not dispel one's dignity, honor and respect upon entrance into such an Order or indeed a new Family.
It appears that being the wife of a Prince is not good enough, apparently being a "blood princess" takes precedence and has it's place. Permit me to expound, I hear the royal ladies gleefully shriek: "we are highborn and therefore distinctly different from them." So here is a valid question: should the words "common commoner princesses" be used to address HRH Princess Edward, Sophie, Countess of Wessex and HRH Princess William, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge? Apparently the issue of which common commoner princess curtsies to which blood princess has been further clarified and updated by Queen Elizabeth. I wonder who advised Her Majesty. It is purely the blue blood pecking order - they explain. In essence, the excuse for so called updated protocol has been brought on by the green-eyed monster.
Confused? PETER McKAY puts matter into perspective. While THE DAILY MAIL and THE DAILY TELEGRAPH simply fan the flame.
What a bloody nerve! No royal family should deem it necessary to dish out such rules, particularly to those who have married one of their own. Unless of course they do not truly consider them as such. Now why am I not surprised by the fact that Sophie must bend the knee to Catherine, who are they really fooling?
