MUSIC - An African Straight Outta Africa Should Be Hosting MTV Africa Music Awards 2015

I love this photo of The First Lady with Mr. Anthony Anderson! I wonder if The First Lady will be accompanying her husband to the Global Entrepreneur Summit in Kenya?

I like Mr. Anthony Anderson. He is an ambitious, sweet, straight outta Compton gentleman. I am delighted that he is "so looking forward to his first trip to Durban and KwaZulu-Natal and honored to be hosting MAMA 2015 on Nelson Mandela's birthday." He believes the show is  "going to be awesome!" I agree. The American staple that is MTV has come such a long way.

Artists of African/African-European descent are still very fresh off The BET Awards 2015 debacle plane. They felt under-appreciated and still have a big problem with their continent being treated as a mere tiny island of a nation. One must bear in mind that since wounds were cut so profoundly in the form of backstage awards, healing time is a factor and must be permitted to come into play here. This Saturday, 18th July, Artists will be styled to the hilt and hoot, beautifully ultra glammed and impeccably dressed but underneath the gorgeous exterior, the bandages will still be in place.

The awards/entertainment/music industry grapevine is global territory therefore the executive powers behind MTV are very much aware of what, excuse me, "went down in LA." It does not hurt to be kind, sensitive and considerate. On this particular occasion, appropriateness must have the victorious place: the Executives must know that it would have been OK for an African straight outta Africa to host The MTV Africa Music Awards 2015 - this time. God knows there is plenty of talent in the 52 TO 54 NATIONS that make up the continent that is called AFRICA. The Obamas would agree.
