NEWS - President Buhari Clamps Down On Entertainment Piracy

President Buhari

One is all too familiar with pirated copies of brand new movies, music and fashion clothing blatantly sold in the open market. Piracy is day light robbery as the creators and contributors are excluded from enjoying the profits of their intellectual property. Furthermore, in deliberately passing off somebody else's work as theirs, pirates destroy excellent brand names while evading the appropriate government duties and taxes.

The welcome news is that President Buhari has made good on his promise to clamp down on piracy in the Nigerian Entertainment Industry. Artists have patiently bitten their tongues and endured the scourge of having their dedicated diligent works destroyed without remedy. As of today and very fortunately, President Buhari has directed law enforcement organisations to intensify their efforts against pirates so that all Artists can enjoy the fruits of their labor. He instructed that a lot more should be done to bring all the perpetrators to justice.

With Nigeria's enormous pool of gifted and talent, President Buhari's determined stance will indeed catapult her fashion, film, television and industrial design sectors to be brilliant champions of the world wide best. Excellent and exciting news indeed.
