President Buhari
Senate President: Dr. Saraki
Without going into too much detail, the rumor mill claims President Buhari is refusing to meet with the Senate President, Dr. Saraki. While all the stories and tales continue to abound on Nigeria's television networks, radio stations, newspapers, blogs and whatever media outlet exists on the political platform, the fact is simply unchangeable: there is a country to be governed; there is a country run. In the very epicenter of opinions, quarrels, misunderstandings and disagreements the good and decent political business of administering Nigeria must prevail.
Dare I say it but the internal wranglings among the politicians is wearing one's patience thin. No doubt my fellow Nigerians will concur. Since there is no legal action or recourse in process, what on earth is the continuous problem? Why are issues dragging left, right and center? What's done is done. It is now time to take our Nation forward to next level and on to the next one. President Buhari must proceed with the business of presiding over Nigeria irrespective of his own personal views, choices, slight biases or irritations. He has an unenviable caseload and must proceed forever forward, never backward. Equally Vice President Osinbajo, Governors, the Senate President, Senate Vice President and all politicians must be allowed to proceed with their good mandates. Time is of the essence, we expect all those voted into office to lead, serve and to get on with the job at hand. Nigeria can not afford to wait any longer.
Rumor or not, true or false, the fact is President Buhari can not refuse to meet Senate President Saraki as such a gesture would be of no assistance in taking Nigeria forward. In other words, the entire matter is a nonstarter.
