POLITICS - President Buhari's Priorities On Visit To The U.S.A.

Mr. Femi Adesina, Special Adviser to The President on Media & Publicity has revealed that
President Buhari will be accompanied to the United States of America by the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria;  the Governors of Borno Edo, Imo, Nasawara & Oyo States; and, the Permanent Secretaries of the Federal Ministries of Defense, Foreign Affairs, Industry, Trade and Investment.

Issues of the economy and security will feature largely as major priorities on this particular visit to President Obama on Monday 20th July. There will also be top level discussions with General Martin Dempsey, Chairman of the Joint Chief of Staffs and Robert Work, Deputy Secretary of Defense. President Buhari have discussions with Vice President Joe Biden, Attorney General Loretta Lynch, Secretary of Treasury Jack Lew, Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker, and Trade Representative Michael Froman.

The President will be received by the Secretary of State at the State Department in Washington. There will be meetings with the U.S. Senate and Congressional Committees on Foreign Relations and the Black Caucus of the U.S. House of Representatives. President Buhari will host an interactive session with Nigeria-Americans and Nigerians resident in America. He will also address the United States Chamber of Commerce and Corporate Council for Africa before leaving Washington.

President Buhari returns to Nigeria July 23rd. He will be attending and chairing the Peace & Security Meeting at the African Union Summit in Johannesburg, South Africa on Saturday July 25th.
