SOCIETY - Why Was The Hilton-Rothschild Wedding In The UK?

Nikki and James.

Three days ago, London, England, United Kingdom was host to the Hilton-Rothschild Wedding. We at JuicyChitChats take this opportunity to wish Mr. & Mrs. James Rothschild a very beautiful, joyful and blessed marriage.

The ubiquitous Wikipedia lists 31 year old Nicholai Olivia Hilton as an American business woman, fashion model, socialite, celebutante, heiress and fashion designer. However the very same portal does not appear to have a separate page for 30 year old James Amschel Victor Rothschild so one can not expound on his professional streams at this juncture. That's OK. Suffice to say, Bride and Groom come from historically wealthy families albeit Rothschild being the so much older and wealthier of the two.

We all understand that sometimes circumstances are outside one's control. One can not always do as one plans. One has to go with the hustle and flow so to speak. Herein lies the unusual: I doubt the aforementioned statements apply to these two families. Regardless of financial wealth and all matters being equal, a Bride is walked down the aisle by her Father from his home, land and nation. Instantly upon marriage, the Bride is walked away from the aisle by her Husband to his home, land and nation. I know this sounds old fashion but as I re-iterate, all things being equal. So it was interesting to note that Ms. Hilton and her Family prepped out of Claridges, London, England, UK and not The Hilton Family Home (or Hotel), Beverly Hills, California, USA.

Travel could not have been a factor, no doubt their guests would have been honored to attend no matter the venue location. Obviously the UK was preferred over the USA. Pardon me for being ever so nosy but I have to ask. Why? Somebody should have told The Hiltons that etiquette dictates that it should have been the other way round. For instance if Nikki was the British groom and James (yes Americans do name their daughters James e.g. Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds's child) the American Bride, the honorable thing would be for Nikki the groom to cross the Atlantic for James the Bride's hand in marriage. Permit me to digress for a moment, last year British Mr. Guy Pelly married American heiress (Holiday Inn Hotels) Ms. Lizzy Wilson. Their Royal Highnesses Prince William, Prince Harry, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie all flew to Memphis, Tennessee for their friend's wedding. The royals were not standoffish and it was said that they all mingled with the other guests comfortably - everyone had a pleasant time and there was not a toffee-nose to be seen or reported. Exactly, precisely....you get the point. It was not for The Wilson Family to fly to the UK and marry their daughter out of a hotel. Absolutely, yes we know the Reception was at Kensington Palace but the Hiltons have their own. Whether Ritz, Claridges or Goring, the principle stands. One would have liked to see them show some Papa Conrad Hilton San Antonio, New Mexico, USA pride.

What does all this demonstrate...what precisely does this mean? Since the Rothschilds will always be sticklers for their European banking pedigree, it therefore follows that the Hiltons ought to be sticklers for their own American Hotel pedigree. All sounds rather childish but one must  appreciate that  the condescending Brits would not be eager to wed in the USA. While money marries money, let's all remember that family pedigree is one thing but family pride is quite another. So, it's one down two to go: we on this side of the Atlantic shall trust the Hiltons to uphold their own the next time around.
