Last weekend when President Obama took his daughters and friends to the NYC for a quick get a way, they all took in a wonderful all encompassing hip hop, jazz, pop, R & B, musical on Broadway. Hamilton, An American Musicial was inspired by the life and times of USA Founding Father, Alexander Hamilton. The original biography was written by Ron Chernow. The book, lyrics and music for Hamilton, An American Musical was written by Lin-Manuel Miranda.

So what's the latest news on this run a way success? Apparently a double disc cast album of the musical is going to be released by Atlantic Records sometime in the fall. Production credits have already been handed over to Ahmir Thompson AKA. "Questlove" and Tariq Trotter AKA. "Black Thought." These two gentleman are the founders and still part of the Grammy award winning hip hop/neo soul band The Roots. It will be recalled that The Roots served as in-house band to NBC's Late Night With Jimmy Fallon and are the current in-house band to NBC's The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
The ground-breaking production is just a week old and is currently showing on Broadway's Richard Rodgers Theatre. The reviews have been outstanding.
