Solomon Dalong
At the Sports Pro organized Annual Sports Industry Workshop, Nigeria's Youth and Sports Minister, Mr. Solomon Dalong said that he wants to see much more private investment in domestic leagues. "In order to take away the sports industry from the strong grasp of government in the country, corporate organisations need to make that happen."
Mr. Nduka Irabor, Chairman and Board of the League Management Company also believes that Nigeria's sports industry should be run by private firms. However Mr. Danladi Verheijen, Managing Director of VEROD Capital emphasized that "transparency, structures and attractiveness are the factors that could encourage private investment ... clubs must put their heads together to make the industry more attractive for private investors."
