Singapore's Founding Prime Minister, Lee Kuan Yew
Singapore's Founding Father, Mr. Lee Kuan Yew, has been voted Strait Times Asian of The Year. The posthumous award recognizes Mr. Yew's 31 years of service as Prime Minister. He is responsible for Singapore's wealth and for turning the nation into an economic success. "At the forefront of his policies were good governance and clean government, and his belief in a meritocratic, multi-racial, multi-religious society."
Prime Minister Yew died in March 2015. His state funeral was attended by leaders from across the globe.
