Yesterday the White House announced that there will be to the U.S. Visa Waiver Program and security officials will screen travelers from all 38 participating nations much more closely and thoroughly. Under the new measures the Department of Homeland Security will collect more information from travelers about their past visits.
The DHS will also be looking at other pilot programs that will aid the collection of biometric data like finger prints. The DHS also wants to expand the use of the Preclearance Program in foreign airports that will allow U.S. security officials to collect and screen biometric data before individuals can be allowed to board planes to the United States.
