The Philadelphia 76ers Coach, Brett Brown has plenty of faith in Jahlil Okafor, the third overall pick Freshman from Duke University - the 2015 NCAA Champions.

The 19 year old has been in spots of bother with two separate embarrassing incidents in Boston, fighting with a heckler, speeding at over 108 mph and even getting himself in a seriously dangerous life altering situation Apart from the off the court issues, Okafor has also had to deal with an upper respiratory infection. No doubt his game has been in jeopardy and some would call it a slump however Coach Brett Brown has great confidence in his rookie. "He's gone through a hell of a time. I'm sure the hardest time of his life. To think that's not going to impact how you play in front of 18,000 people and go be on National TV again and go put yourself out there where you are scrutinized for your performance is quite naive, I think."

I agree. This phase has passed. It will take some time to repair the damage but whatever the negative experiences thrust upon Okafor, no doubt he has learnt some valuable life lessons. Going forward, the only way for pleasant young man is up.

Okafor has a birthday coming up. He will be 20 on Tuesday.
