ROYALTY - Princess Alexia of The Netherlands Breaks Leg In Ski Accident

Princess Alexia of The Netherlands

The second daughter of the King and Queen of The Netherlands, 10 year of Princess Alexia broke her leg in a ski accident while on holiday with her family in Lech, Austria. She was immediately flown by helicopter to hospital for surgery as she had broken her upper right leg.

It will be recalled that in February 2012, Prince Friso (the son of ruling Monarch, Queen Beatrix and the current King Willem-Alexander's younger brother) was hit by an avalanche in Lech. He suffered brain injury due to shortage of oxygen. He fell into a coma which progressed to a minimally conscious state dying of complications in August 2013.

Princess Alexia is said to be recovering well.
