WATCH - Malcolm X : Make It Plain

Malcolm x
Malcolm X

On Sunday 21st February,  it was 51 years ago that 39 year old Malcolm Little/Malcolm X/El-Hajj Malik El-Shabazz was assassinated in New York City, while addressing his Pan-Africanist Organization of Afro-American Unity (the OAAU, which he founded about a year earlier), at the Audubon Ballroom in Washington Heights.

Please take the time to watch this compelling documentary by produced and directed by Orlando Bagwell. It is narrated by Alfre Woodward and shows memories of prominent people like Maya Angelou, Ossie Davis, John Henrik Clarke, Sonia Sanchez, Peter Bailey, Yuri Kochiyama, Gordon Parks, and Alex Haley; Nation of Islam associates, and family members, including his wife, Betty Shabazz, and his oldest daughter, Attallah Shabazz.

Among other things there is archival footage of Malcolm X, speaking in his own words, at meetings and rallies, and in media interviews.

Malcolm X's short life was one of incredible impact. It's been 51 years but his presence on this earth is still felt and appreciate worldwide.
