The King and Queen of The Netherlands are on a state visit to France. Never mind the reason or politics ... I just want to talk about this Queen who is not afraid to go against the grain by "playing it safe" or pandering to formal dress etiquette. As far as I am concerned, this lady is just too awesome. This former New York Banker is highly intelligent, sophisticated and still oh so fashionable for yonks!
Isn't this different? Doesn't this make a change? I for one, love this dress by Claes Iversen. The detail is astonishing. I love the hair, I love the simplicity of the wide brimmed hat. I love the earrings. I love the ensemble.
Most importantly, since joining the Dutch Royal Family in 2002 as The Crown Princess, I love this new Queen Consort for remaining true to her fashionable self after all these years.

She is something else. I love her fashion choices. Maxima is always on the cutting edge. That's what I like about these young Queens: Maxima, Letizia and Mathilde take fashion to a different level. Good for them.
