The Hope For You Development Foundation is a registered NGO Charity registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission. It has been in existence since December 2014.

OUR VISION

The great social and welfare divide that exists in our communities has left huge groups of people in our inner cities greatly disadvantaged, disenfranchised and seriously frustrated. Many times, through no fault of their own. It is so easy for people to become negatively influenced after one continual failure after another. Unfortunately, there are little or no formal structures in place to address the multitude of diverse needs that spring up within households and individuals. Consequently, we have endemic and generational problems of a continuing cycle of lack, frustration, vulnerable children who are products of such environment and ultimately, we then have the tendencies of antisocial and criminal activities that many of these groups are consequently lured into.

Our vision therefore, is to reach out to those who have been economically, educationally, socially, and culturally deprived and to offer them empowerment initiatives aimed at offering them opportunities to become self reliant and self sufficient. We have a genuine commitment to understanding people’s limiting factors and challenges and we are attempting to alleviate their sufferings by embarking on various initiatives and programmes aimed at positive societal change. We are adopting a holistic approach to the challenges of the family, the person and the child. We intend to do this with sincere empathy and understanding.

We shall be actively challenging, encouraging, developing and supporting those in most need in their community and who have been carefully selected and counseled.

Since the very beginning, Hope For You Development Foundation has been governed by certain core values. They help shape our culture as an organization and define our character. They guide how we behave and how we make decisions. The following list represents what is truly important to us as an organization. OUR WORK

Our services in the organization cut across four main aspects which include the economic, social, educational and cultural areas of life and living. A well rounded person who is positioned to get the most value out of life will be better equipped by having these major areas of their life taken care of.

The Economic aspect of the organization is geared towards creatively empowering, supporting and motivating people whose very small scale businesses used to maintain a family are either failing or are not sustainable due to variety of reasons ranging from depleted stock, inadequate capital to keep it running or perhaps very poor business knowledge on the basics of operating a system that would provide a continuous income.

We have also provided selected persons with a monthly payment option to eventually own equipment and commercial motor cycles. This option has created an immediate income for the selected families who have benefited from it so far.

The Social aspect of the organization is aimed at rehabilitating people who are challenged in one area or the other, creating skills acquisition classes where people can be trained to become independent in an interested area of vocation. Hope for You has also been privileged to assist in many areas of dire emergency and urgent need intervention. These include payment of unexpected medical bills, assistance with unexpected inability to pay school fees etc

We are also presently sponsoring and supporting a 16 year old orphan.

We are aware that quality Education is very essential in building a bright future and that support structures once again, are few, the Educational aspect of the organization is dedicated to offering intensive coaching, after school and holiday programmes to enrich the structured and formal government education that they may already be receiving. We therefore organize after school coaching classes for primary and secondary students, quality tutorial classes for secondary school students especially to prepare them for milestone examinations in the Nigerian educational system. We believe we can improve educational outcomes for disadvantaged children. Through encouraging and teaching better work habits, homework completion and school attendance, we are seeking to provide life skills. Our programme includes social, spiritual and emotional support. We intend to model good character and showing Gods love to each other. We intend to ultimately extend this area to adult education classes for adults who wish to enrich their knowledge in one area or the other, example, perhaps to learn a second local or international language.

The Cultural aspect of our vision , is directed at raising a performing arts group of young people between the age bracket of nine and nineteen in order to develop their dramatic, musical and singing talent. This ‘Children of Hope’ Performing Group will perform at public, private and selected events. The children will develop confidence and talent and will be happily and usefully occupied.

OUR INITIAL PROJECTS

1. The expansion and improved facilities of our ongoing after school academic centre where individual attention is provided to ensure an improved educational outcome for our children.

2. The establishment of our Vocational Skills Acquisition Centre where interested persons will receive training and development to acquire vocational and creative skills for development of self and financial empowerment.

3. The establishment of a performing arts group for young children between the ages of nine and nineteen where they can be helped to discover and develop their natural talents and use it to better their own lives and the community at large.

4. The continuation and expansion of our emergency and urgent need intervention programme. Many families are hit with unexpected life and death challenges which without the grace of God, or our immediate response, could ultimately lead to tragedy.

5. The continuation and continued expansion of our Economic recovery programme for disenfranchised and left behind families whereby the income provider, through no fault of their own, is no longer able to sustain an income to maintain the family.
