Megabucks Lottery Ticket
Yesterday it was reported that a man who lives in Iraq won $6.4 Million. The winning ticket was sold in Bend, Oregon, USA but purchased by the Iraqi citizen through an online service.
The Oregon Lottery officials took legal counsel and spoke with the necessary experts only to be old that everything was in order and above board. The online sale which was effected in August of this year is 100% legal.
Ms. Bell-Putis, the owner of the Binky's store that sold the online ticket will receive $64,000 as a prize for selling the winning ticket - the seller's bonus is one percent of the prize money. The Iraqi citizen has opted not the take the lump sum because he did not want his winnings slashed in half. He will be receiving his jackpot over a 20 year period. The very first payment was made $256,000 sometime last week.
This is the first time in the Oregon Lottery 30 year history that a big winning jackpot was sold through an international online lottery ticket sales site.
