Mother Theresa was the Nun who cared for the very poor and now barely under 20 years after her passing, Pope Francis has acknowledged the bid to award her the Catholic Church's highest honor. Pope Francis has approved a decree attributing a miracle to Mother Teresa's intercession during yesterday's audience.

In 2003, Mother Teresa was beautified after a lady's prayers to Mother Teresa got rid of an incurable cancer. The miracle required for her canonization is the healing of a Brazilian man with multiple brain abscesses who within 24 hours of falling into a coma was cured. The Vatican confirmed that it was his wife's prayers for Mother Teresa's intercession that brought on the miraculous healing.

The 1979 Nobel Peace Prize winner ran the Missions of Charity Order with 600 Orphanages, Homeless Shelters, Soup Kitchens, World-wide Clinics together with 4,000 Nuns.  The Italian media speculates that her canonization could be 5th September, the 19th anniversary of her death.

The Blessed Teresa of Calcutta was born 26th August 1910 and died on 5th September 1997 aged 87.
