NEWS - Black Lives Matter Activist Takes Own Life Outside Statehouse

MarShawn McCarrel, 23, committed suicide on the steps of Ohio's Statehouse Monday, authorities said.

23 year old MarShawn McCarrell, a Black Lives Matter Activist took his own life by gunshot on the steps of the Columbus Ohio Statehouse Building. His last public appearance was when he attended the NAACP Image Awards on Friday. His last tweet said "Let the record show that I pissed on the statehouse before I left." 

His family suspects that the nature of his work took its toil leaving him mentally and physically drained. McCarrell founded a youth mentorship program: Pursuing Our Dreams, which launched a project to feed Ohio's homeless: Feed The Streets.

    What a waste of valuable precious life! Why couldn't he reach out to someone. Acute depression is a serious illness. Poor thing. Too many youngsters doing this!!! Suicide is not the way.
