NEWS - Shell Petroleum Is Investigating The Oil Spill

Mr. Osagie Okunbor Chairman of Shell Companies in Nigeria and the Managing Director of Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Limited. (SPDC) has confirmed a rigorously thorough investigation into the source of the crude oil spill which occurred around the Forcados Terminal on last Sunday, 14th February.
In a Press Release, Mr. Precious Okolobo, the Media Relations Manager of SPDC, Mr Precious Okolobo stated that the initial investigation will enable the company to quickly determine what suitable response was further needed. According to him,SPDC Joint Venture and third party production into the terminal is being suspended as a precautionary measure.
Mr Okolobo added that SPDC has since activated its Emergency Response and Oil Response teams to manage the incident, while booms and other oil containment resources are being deployed to the area to try to stop the spread of spilled oil. Furthermore he expressed that the support of industry group, Clean Nigeria Associates (CNA) has been enlisted for a comprehensive response to the spill. He also emphasized that in order to quickly facilitate a joint investigation, all the relevant authorities including security agencies have been informed of the incident.

    1. Shell did not step up for Ken Saro Wiwa in those days. Don't like this company at all, don't trust them at all. They've never cared about Nigeria's environment. Always messing up, very messy and corrupt oil company. Nigeria needs to send them packing. RME. 100 disses and hisses!
