NEWS - U.S. Marshals Arrest Man From Not Paying Student Loan

Paul Aker

One Mr. Paul Aker from Houston, Texas has been arrested for not paying his student loan that he originally contracted in 1987.

Apparently his $1,500 federal student loan has gone unpaid for 29 years. He told the judge that he had consolidated his loans and assumed it had been paid off all these years. His loan has ballooned to $5,700 - Mr. Paul Aker has since settled with the judge and has promised to pay $200 monthly.

I don't think this was deliberate. It sounds like an honest mistake.
