NEWS - Bank of Industry Commissions Pilot Power Project In Onono-Anam, Anambra State Today

Today, Friday 4th March 2016, Onono-Anam in Anambra state approximately two hours away from the cities of Onitsha or Awka (off Aguleri Junction Onitsha/Adani), Bank of Industry & GVE Projects will begin the project to light up Anambra.
The Bank of industry 24KW mini-grid pilot project in Onono-Anam, Anambra state, Nigeria will be commissioned by His Excellency Executive Governor Anambra state Willie Obiano (Akpokue Dike). Onono-Anam has agriculture and petty trading as its prevailing economic drivers.
Bank of Industry with the leadership of the acting MD/CEO Waheed Olagunju says the Bank is ready to partner with all state governments on solar electrification projects in off grid areas. He also said “the bank and UNDP will commission solar electrification projects in other communities in Anambra, Edo and Kaduna state. It essentially is a programme aimed at poverty alleviation and rural economic development. Waheed Olagunju assures that the Bank’s medium term vision is to ensure 100,000 homes have solar systems in the next 5 years.
