NEWS - Bayelsa State's Governor Dickson Is Determined To Recover Stolen Properties

Governor Henry Seriake Dickson has inaugurated an 11-Member Special Task Force which will identify and recover government property illegally acquired by private individuals, communities and all corporate organisations within or outside Bayelsa State. 

The Taskforce has two weeks to submit an Interim Report to the Bayelsa State Government so that further action can immediately be taken. The Governor has asked the Task Force to identify all lands, take an inventory and recover all land ceded to Bayelsa State in the old Rivers State. The Task Force is expected to determine stages of encroachment, retrieve, recover all land and perfect all Government titles.  

Governor Dickson has urged The Task Forlce to prepare a comprehensive Register of all acquired land in order that the same can be sent to the Offices of State Physical Planning, Bayelsa State Solicitor General, Bayelsa State Secretary of State, Bayelsa Geographical and Information System and the Bayelsa Surveyor General. 

The Task Force will ensure that members of the Nigerian general public are aware of government owned-lands so that relevant inquiries can be made before purchases are perfected. 

The Governor's Chief Press Secretary, Daniel Iworiso-Markson, has announced as eight individuals as Task Force Members.

Preye Agedah - Bayelsa State Solicitor-General and Task Force Member. 

Moses Doubeni - Bayelsa State Surveyor-General and Task Force Member. 

Chief Boma Spero-Jack - Special Security Adviser To Governor Dickson and Task Force Member. 

Udengs Eradiri - President of Ijaw Youth Council and Task Force Member.

Loveday Owubokiri - Surveyor Assembly Member and Task Force Member. 

Asst. Commandant Ogbole Fredrick - Representing Nigerian Police and Task Force Member. 

Chief Wisdom Franklin - Representing Nigeria Security & Civil Defence Corp and Task Force Member.

  2. Imagine. How can people expect to prosper by stealing land? Sorry but I hope this task force isn't just another way to distribute wealth among friends? Anything is possible in Naija.
