The Lesotho Promise
The Kingdom of Lesotho's Letsing Mine is known for yielding some of the most incredible diamonds in the world. It has produced the 493 Carat Legacy, the 478 Carat Light of Letsing and the 601 Carat Lesotho Brown.
The 603 Carat Lesotho Promise was also unearthed from the Mine in 2006. Very unique in color, she is the world's 15th largest diamond ever to be discovered and is the largest this century. Graff, the London Jewelers studied the Lesotho Promise for more than three months before cutting and polishing. After a year's work, she yielded a necklace with 26 D flawless diamonds which is now worth $60 million. Graff owns the necklace to date.
Graff is now seeking to raise $1 Billion in a Hong Kong share sale in order to join other luxury brands using Hong Kong as the gateway to the boisterous Chinese market. Interesting.
