Meryl Streep and Jean DuJardin
Please permit to discuss a couple of items before dealing with the question at hand. So I thoroughly enjoyed watching Mr. Billy Crystal, the fact that this was his ninth outing as host was irrelevant to me. Although I could not help get the impression that he was deliberately playing it safe. Perhaps the ridiculous debacle this time last year was not too far from his mind as he made every effort to offer reparations. Meryl Streep looked stunned as Colin Firth pronounced her the winner. I like this outstanding artist and yes, absolutely, I will concur and be the first to say that the Leading Actress category was a difficult one. Having said that, I would have preferred to see Glenn Close or Viola Davis take Oscar home.
