Earlier on today, King Gustav, Queen Silvia, Prince Daniel and Prince Carl attended Church to give thanks for the new Princess of Sweden.
The new daughter of Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel was named by King Gustav XVI as his son, Prince Carl sat by his side at a cabinet meeting earlier on today. She is Estelle Silvia Ewa Mary.
Estelle is a derivative of Esther, Estella, Stella. It means love, star and good. Some say the name is of French origin while others profess it to be Greek. Silvia is from Victoria's mother, Ewa is from Daniel's. The new parents are determined to forge ahead with royal life in a very modern and different manner. Apparently the Swedes are quite surprised at the first name. No worries, the princess is in very good company - the Grammy Award winning rapper, singer, songwriter and producer is doing very well for herself, thank you very much.
HRH Princess Estelle Silvia Ewa Mary of Sweden, Duchess of Ostergotland joins Princess Elisabeth of Belgium, Princess Ingrid of Norway and Princess Catharina-Amalia of The Netherlands as future Queen Regnant of their respective nations.
