By now most of you are aware that 19 year old Gabrielle "Gabby" Douglas (Gymnast/Gold Medalist/Historic Olympic Champion) and 18 year old Zendaya Coleman (Actor/Singer/Dancer) both graduated from Oak Park High School, Oak Park, California. In the midst of such an outstanding achievement, Principal Kevin Buchanan emphasized the point "I think it is important to our community that we come together to celebrate the achievement of everyone." Here, here. I could not agree with the wise Principal Buchanan more. Every single graduate is worthy and as such must be congratulated as s/he embarks on the next chapter of life. 

Oak Park High School's graduation ceremony was all over the media. How did this particular establishment manage to deliver and attract incredible star power on Thursday, 11th June? Simply put, Oak Park Unified School District has a unique program that permits students to be tutored on the set, at the gym, at home, etc and still be part of the final graduation ceremony with their classmates. Ms. Natalie Hawkins (Gabrielle's Mother) expressed the fact that homework was done while training and winning medals during the 2012 London Olympics and the forthcoming 2016 Rio Olympics, ..."it's been so crazy just to even get school work done." Zendaya said her parents are Educators and that she studied while working on the Disney Chanel and other projects, ..."it's really important for young people to see other young people striving to get their education."

Actor/Comedian, Mr. Bob Newhart (whose grand daughter was also graduating) spoke at the commencement ceremony.

Nigeria, UK and countless nations have extremely rigid under-18 school systems. To enable full potential, establishments world wide ought to consider flexible ways of delivering quality education. The young ones must not only dare to dream, they must live out their dreams to the best of their abilities.
