Emeritus Archbishop Desmond Tutu
Yesterday it was reported that Emeritus Archbishop Desmond Tutu had been hospitalized in Cape Town for a troublesome and stubborn infection. While his Family members have not revealed the nature of his ailment, the 83 year old national treasure has been a cause for concern because he has beeng battling prostrate cancer for ten years. The Archbishop's daughter, Reverend Canon Mpho Tutu is hopeful that her father with be returning home within a couple of days.
Faeiz Jacobs, ANC Western Cape Provincial Secretary, regards Arch, as he is fondly known, "as a national treasure who has never stopped working for a better South Africa and a better world. We need him to be in great health for the extensive work that lies ahead....he remains the most energetic and jovial activist we have ever had and we are happy that he is expected to be discharged this week."
The Nobel Laureate's hospitalization continues to make headlines across the globe with social media platforms inundated with prayers, good and well wishes for a speedy recovery.
Yesterday, the Archbishop's facebook message read: "thank you for all your well wishes and prayers."
