We have all heard of the saying/cliche/expression: "the young shall grow." So if not true, let's just, (at least for a moment) imagine the outcome. Precisely. Young people are daring.....they live on the cutting edge....they will do, say or try anything just because! Such is the wonder of life itself.
Here comes the young Mr. Jose Antonio Vargas: a 34 year old journalist, film maker and immigration rights activist. While working for TIME, he admitted his undocumented immigrant status in order to encourage dialogue and quick resolution for millions of others in a similar situation. It is the very nature of the Mr. Vargas's of this world to produce such remarkable work which aired yesterday on MTV at 8pm.
Regardless of one's subjective opinion, let's tip our hats off to all the young people who willingly participated in this interesting piece of work in front of camera and behind the camera.
Here is a thoughtful reality check for you to munch on: it is indeed the truth of youth that brings forth and inspires the greater tomorrows of our times. Those of us who are blessed to be in charge of the young, must ensure that they grow in such a way that is positive, useful, kind, thoughtful, worthwhile and gracious to themselves and all others along life's journey.

MTV's caption for the documentary: "What does it mean to be white? MTV's "White People" is a groundbreaking documentary on race that aims to answer that question from the viewpoint of young white people living in America today. The film follows Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and filmmaker, Jose Antonio Vargas, as he travels across the country to get this complicated conversation started. "White People" asks what's fair when it comes to affirmative action, if colorblindness is a good thing, what privilege really means, and what it's like to become the 'white minority" in your neighborhood. Young people might be innocent but they can also be brutally frank. It's good to hear all sides.
