5 Hours Old Newborn Baby

Around 11.30am on Monday a custodian of Holy Child of Jesus Church, Richmond Hill, Queens, New York left the chapel to pick up lunch only to hear the cry of a baby upon his return at 1.30pm.

Pastor Christopher Ryan Heanue posted the following on the Church Facebook page:

"For Unto Us A Child Is Born"
At miiday today an abandoned newborn baby was found in a recently constructed manger scene in our church. With umbilical cord still attached, and wrapped in a blanket, the baby was found in the manger. Police was called and the baby was taken by ambulance to Jamaica Hospital where it is being treated. He is a healthy 5lb 2oz boy - 17 inches in length. Let us pray for this child, for his parents and for whomever will receive him into their home."

The police officers have been looking at video and surveillance cameras in an effort to track down the baby's parents.
