On Sunday 18th October, Eddie Murphy became the 18th recipient of the Mark Twain Prize For American Humor. The show, which took place at the John F. Kennedy Center for Performing Arts in Washington, D.C., was taped and not broadcast live.

The star studded event was attended by people from across the globe. There were plenty of tributes from Dave happelle, Whitney Cummings, Kathy Griffin, Arsenio Hall, Sam Moore, Kevin Nealon, Trevor Noah, Joe Piscopo, Chris Rock and others.

Previous recipients of the Mark Twain Prize are Richard Pryor, Jonathan Winters, Carl Reiner, Whoopi Goldberg, Bob Newhart, Lily Tomlin, Lorne Michaels, Steve Martin, Neil Simon, Billy Crystal, George Carlin, Bill Cosby, Carol Burnett, Jay Leno and Ellen Degeneres.

PBS aired the 90-minute tribute Monday and also made it available for online viewing. Unfortunately, due to very tight restrictions, the video is not available in certain regions. Sighs.

However, there are plenty of little snippets on Youtube ...
