There will be extra vigilance and tight security measures in place for The Pontiff's three nation East African tour which commences today. Pope Francis will visit Central African Republic, Kenya and Uganda over a five day period.

Thousands of extra police will be deployed as the faithful flock to the streets just to catch a glimpse while others will attend open air masses. It is predicted that millions will celebrate the Pope's visit. Over 60 Cardinals Archbishops and Bishops from across East Africa together with 9,000 extra Priests have been drafted in to assist.
