After 10 Finnish Companies attended high level business meetings in Lagos and Abuja, discussions were held to improve trade relations between Nigeria and Finland. Fortunately there is now growing optimism that major Finnish Companies are aiming to take advantage of major opportunities in Nigeria.
Mr. Matti Anttonen, Finland's Deputy External Economic Relations Minister, expressed that a delegation of Finnish companies have shown major interest Energy, Healthcare and Telecommunications. He emphasized that priority will be afforded to Nigeria's power sector, particularly the electricity supply and that this will be a major area of cooperation from Finland's perspective.
Mr. Anttonen said Finnish companies are more than ready to increase their products and services in Nigeria's markets. Furthermore, the Finnish Ambassador to Nigeria, Mrs. Pirjo Suomela-Chowdhury, expressed an eagerness for both countries to share opportunities.
